Localized in western equatorial Africa.

Characteristics:
The elytra sometimes have a rather bluish iridescence.  The pronotal shield is of a tawny yellow color.

Comments:
It is thought that this species sometimes crosses with G. regius to produce a hybrid referred to as Goliathus "atlas".

Varieties:
None noted.

Countries of origin:
Burkina Faso, Ghana, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.
