This stamp is from the East African
nation of Tanzania. Note that the "extinction" date of 1933 is an
error. Dr. David Fleay photographed and filmed the last known captive
thylacine in 1933, which died three years later in 1936, and the species
was not actually classified as extinct by the IUCN
until 1986.
