| Part one of
the Thylacine History subsection, "1805 to 1936", opens with
the earliest written account of the species. The disastrous results
of the thylacine's encounter with Tasmania's European settlers is then
discussed, leading up to the death of the last known captive at the Hobart
Zoo on 7 September 1936.
"1936 to Present" focuses on some
of the searches that have been undertaken to locate the thylacine after
1936, including the work of David Fleay, Eric Guiler and the Griffith-Malley-Brown
team.
