| Here,
a Java applet enables you to zoom and pan a high resolution image
of a thylacine skeleton. Your left mouse button zooms in, and the
right button zooms out. Pan the image by moving the mouse.
The image's file size is rather large (194 KB), so if you have a low Internet
connection speed, please allow a moment for it to be loaded.
When you initially
click on the image, a small Java applet window will appear. Instead
of closing it, click on its minimize button ( )
, and it will remain off-screen.
If the skeleton image
fails to display, does not zoom or you get an error from your web browser,
please click

This is the skeleton
of a female which in life was displayed at the Adelaide Zoo, circa 1915.
For some general
information about the structure of the thylacine skeleton, as well as close-up
views of the manus (hand) and pes (foot), please see the Anatomy
