Here are 10 books that I recommend for those who have a specific interest
in Thylacoleo, Australian vertebrate palaeontology, and the natural
history of Australia in general. Most of these are hard to find and/or
out of print, but if you do some research on the internet and elsewhere,
you may be able to locate some of them. Also, major university libraries
may have copies of some of these available for loan.
CARNIVOROUS
MARSUPIALS
(Volume II)
Michael Archer (ed.)
Royal Zoological Society of New South
Wales - 1982
ISBN: 0 9599951 3 7
pages 397-804 of a two volume set
The second volume of the publication CARNIVOROUS
MARSUPIALS is a valuable reference for all who are interested in the family
Thylacoleonidae. A collection of articles by leading authorities
on the marsupiocarnivores, it contains a number of important technical
works on the study of thylacoleonids. It has proven very useful in
my research for this web site, and I much thank all of the authors who
contributed the papers included in this reference. This is a very
rare book now, and I wish you luck should you pursue locating a copy. |
