"Der grosse Beutelhund. (The Great Pouched Dog) Thylacinus cynocephalus.", by Hans Jakob Kull, from Heinrich Rudolf Schinz's famous work "Monographien der Säugethiere" (Monographs of Mammals).  Publisher - Zurich : Meyer und Zeller, 1843.  Note the similarities between this illustration and those produced earlier by Coutant and Brodtmann, on which it is obviously based.

The numerous stains on the image are the result of ageing of the paper.
